Default fuel filter replacement

Just a little confused. I have one maintenance schedule that says to change the fuel filter at 25,000 mile intervals while my shop manual for 2013 Touring models says to change the fuel filter element at 100,000 miles. Quite a difference. Which is it?

My manual for 2007 Ultra says 25,000. I am at 30,000. Fixin to change it next week. Maybe they changed to a better filter for 2013?

If it's the OEM manual, I'd go by that. can't hurt to check with a Harley service department to see if there were any TSB's or addendum to your manual.

You're right. I plan on calling the dealership this week to clarify. I can't imagine why the wide difference in intervals from one year to the next.

the filter isn't much money, its not hard to change. change it at your intervals, I do them at the 30k services. sure doesn't hurt anything, and it helps keep the junk from getting into the injectors, and changing fuel pressures. (by getting plugged and dropping volume)

When in doubt, change it out. Never been one to get wrapped around these intervals. In some cases, I think the intervals are too far apart so I change things based on how hard I've been riding and my own gut feelings.
