My brother bought a 2007 Street Glide. When he bought it, he had pipes, tourpack, detachable mount kit and a backrest added to price. Since then, he has bought some wheels, chrome front end, and steel braided lines. These things were purchased at 3 - 4 different dealerships.
At dealership where he bought wheels, they had him in system and said since he had bought over $1,000 on accessories, H-D was giving a 10% discount on all other purchases for his bike. Not the dealership, H-D. He was told dealers aren't letting this get out by telling clients. I kind of called BS on that because a dealer told him.
Yeah, my dealer used to do the same thing. But I thought it was just the dealer. I'm not sure they are still doing it though. Haven't spent anywhere near that in several years. I've got Annie looking just the way I want her.
got my bike last may.. i get 15% off for 2 years free oil filter at the 1k check. an extra 10 bux off on my birthday and also at the 1 year anniversary of buying my bike..
Dave
I asked the dealer to change a few parts on mine ( pipes, bars, covers and so on ) I wanted them to take the price of the stock parts off the total and then add the price of the new parts so I wasn't paying twice. I got the basic 'go screw yourself' but they would put aside the stock parts and I can take them with me.
so ok fine....I wanted those parts before I picked up the bike.
when I did.............gee.........we can't seem to locate the parts..............I think they were sent back to the factory as used parts.
WTF??
bottom line I guess..........don't expect too much of a discount from any HD dealer.
