I have 12000 miles on my 06 Ultra having never putting ethanol blended fuel in it,avoiding it if you will,so today I put in a tankful just to see how it would run and it seems to run cooler or is it just my imagination here?

It's possible. That concentration is really not enough to do anything, except clean the deposits from the regular gas.

We are forced to use the 10% ethanol blend down here and my Evo seems to run smoother on it. Maybe my imagination....

I have run it in my '98 FLHTCUI with no problems. Gas mileage seemed to drop just a little and it seemed to ping just a little more than it should. From my experience, the bike just did not seem to like the stuff.

Never tried on the carbed bikes.....

The 85% Ethanol blend does not have as much energy per unit as compared to regular gasoline.

Ethanol burns cooler and cleaner. It also has a higher octane rating, and so decreases pinging a little. BUT, it has few BTU's per volume. You need to burn more of it to get the same result. Your gas mileage will suffer a tad.
