Good thing it didn't get in the way of the brake pedal.

Found an open end wrench in the engine bay of my 4Runner one day. Took me a minute to remember when I might have left it. It had been there 3 months maybe... Couldn't believe it hadn't fallen out.

You miss the wrench or the Sportster?

Not a tool, but left a pair of Oakleys on the back of my Street Glide, they found a comfortable place to hang out, they rode for 50+ mikes, I found them there the next morning.

Took an old car in for an oil change once, 4, 500 miles later was changing the oil at home & found a filter wrench under the hood.

Did the front brakes on my Honda Pilot, wife kept saying she heard a rattle. I didn't hear it. She insisted. I told her she was nuts. Next oil change I found the wire coat hangar I'd used to hold the caliper still hanging on the spring.

Happens to all of us, I think.

Pulled off the outer faring to install a hidden antenna, SG signals and I was missing a Snap On allen socket later on............found it wedged between the triple clamp and outer fairing about 3 weeks later.

Years ago I had a tailgate repainted at a body shop. Dropped off the tail gate and picked it up a week later.
The tail gate had a bedliner panel on it, after installing the tail gate on the truck, I noticed a lump in the panel. Removed it and found a 1/2 Snap on wrench. I brought it to the body shop and the guy was ecstatic.

I have lost tools before, mainly small sockets, found all but one over time

After fixing a puncture, many years ago,one of my tyre levers was missing.
Thinking maybe one of the kids out on the street had lifted it I wrote it off, only to notice a strange lump in my tyre a few weeks later...you can guess the rest.

I've found more than I've lost Have a few Snap-on combo wrenches and a prybar that have been left under the hood. Followed a guy in a work truck in a rural area and the door of his cap came open. A 5 gallon tool bucket fell out. I was beeping trying to get his attention before it fell, stopped and cleaned it up and tried to catch the guy, but he was gone. Flashlight, a couple ratcheting combo wrenches, small sledge and some other things. Lost a cordless phone that I put on the bumper of my truck years ago, but can't remember losing any tools. I was physically upset when my youngest daughter told me her boyfriend went into my tool box for a screwdriver to replace a few parts on his Yamaha. That was a first for me, but everything was back in it's place.

This is what I do too, I have a little low two shelf table on wheels that I park beside the bike I'm working on.

Where I worked there was a gas station just down the alley behind us that their mechanics drove up in cars they had worked on. I was always finding small tools and most are Snap-On... sockets, ratchets, and open end/box wrenches.
