Thanks for all the kind words everyone, they are appreciated.

In looking through the few pics I do have the bike got more road rash than the wife or I...

Here are a couple of pics of the bike and of our helmets. All the damage to the bike is on the right side where it was laid down.

Maybe I should get a "Born to Ride" shirt and have it changed to "Born to Slide"?

Your right in saying that it could have been worse, we are so glad to hear you came out ok and were wearing a helmet.

I went through the ERC recently and learned to correct the problem I had of applying to much rear brake in panic stops. I sure hope you follow up on taking thet course when you heal up.

Man, I know how that feels, I highsided my Ultra back in October. I ended up with ribs broken in about a dozen different places, front and back, a broken shoulderblade, and a collapsed lung. It put me ina trauma hospital for 8 days. My son was on the back, and I thank the Lord he only had some bruising. You are right in saying that it could have been worse, I am so glad you and your wife are doing okay now! The scrapes on your fairing look just like mine! As for your helmets, toss them and get new ones. They should never be used again after having an impact!

May you and your wife have a speedy recovery and be grateful that things were not worse. Thank you for sharing your report.

In 30+ years of riding I've had three accidents - all by some idiot who did not see me.

Good on you for posting, maintaining course and speed.

At least your both ok. Bikes are replacable. Sounds like from the condition of your helmets it was a good thing you were wearing them. I hate the damn things myself but my wife makes me wear one.
