Yikes! I was in some moderate traffic on my old metric cruiser and rolled over a ladder at around 35/40 mph. Was stuck in the middle lane on a blind corner guy in front swerved and some how I held it upright. I guess I can thank my years of motocross muscle memory!!! I did pull over at the next exit to clean my britches out though.

Damn! I guess I'm most fearful of a big truck losing a recap tread in front of me. I roll it on and speed right around them - especially when the truck doesn't look well maintained.

Not my bag either.... I'd rather take the extra time to get to a place, rather than get there fast.

When I first read the OP's post here I thought: Geez, sell the bike, or grow a pair. Then I started reading all the responses and calmed down a bit. When I started riding 50+ years ago it was what it was. Nowadays the new bikes are so freaking comfortable and advanced. I almost fell asleep once on a 4 day ride. Everything increases on the freeways. There's more idiots, therefore more chances of something happening. Don't ride unless you're 110% and can "read" not only the road but the drivers too. Most of them will run you over at 85mph or better. Some good responses on here.

My only issue with riding on interstates is it's so extremely boring! I ride a WG with no windshield, no helmet (in states where I can do that) ... I don't have an issues with that part of it, just hate the monotony. If I have the time, it's all back roads all the time for me.

Half my daily commute is on the highway. About 20 miles on and off. I like to get in a comfortable spot away form cars, put on the cruise and veg out. Nice and relaxing for me.

I think there are less hazards on the highway than side roads. More outs as well.

My $ 0.02 of course.

I love the interstate! Cruise along at 80 (most of the time). There's only but so many directions the ******** and idiots can come at you from. I find it quite relaxing.
