Not sticking up for anyone in particular but,, Dealer pricing includes Dealer overhead; rent/RE cost, tax, Insurance, utilities, etc. This can account for a good portion of pricing variations by location. I'm guessing Joisey is expensive turf.

I try to support my local Indie.Tires and oil are mainstays of these small shops. I think my last D-402 installed on the bike was 210. My days of pulling rear tires off an ultra in the garage and putting it in the truck to take it to the shop are over. Dirtbike tires are all I'm mounting in the garage without a tire machine.

If you're planning on buying tires online, at least ask your Indie if he can meet the price. You might be surprised. Building a relationship helps. buying plugs, gear and stuff like cleaning products from them so they know who you are goes a long way. If all the indies go out of business, all you'll have is your garage or the dealer. Think about that when you're patting yourself on the back because you saved 15 bucks on a tire from an online vendor.

I stated shopping around for my back tire, since HD charges $300+ for it and it lasts about 5-7k miles.

J&P- they have tire discounts often. Bought both front/rear Avon Cobras there.

I purchase my tires from Jake Wilson (https://www.jakewilson.com/) and I install them myself using a No Mar Tire Changer. You can get a No-Mar for under $350. Change a couple of tires and it pays for itself. Plus you know it's done correctly, can thoroughly clean your rim with the tire off and it's done on your schedule.

Last time I purchased tires I found that Cycle Gear will match prices of any brick and mortar store.

Personally, I get my tires from my Indy and when I do that, he cuts me some slack on the cost of putting on the new tire/s.

Bought two Michelin Commander ll's from Jake Wilson this past spring.

$169.00 for the rear and $99.00 for the front.

Took my bike to an Indy and he charged me $120.00 to remove, mount, balance and reinstall.

I could have got it done cheaper elsewhere but my Indy is about a half a mile from me and unlike some he doesn't care if you furnish the tires.

There are some that won't change them unless you buy the tires from them.

Best prices I've found are Dennis Kirk and Jake Wilson. JR
