I bought what was billed as a '02 FLSTC front wheel on ebay that turned out to be a -'99. My bad for not knowing what I was looking at. Fortunately, with the correct bearings & a new rotor, I was back in business.

Caveat emptor?

That said, I have no use for misleading/dishonest sellers.

BMW Motored having a promo right now on their bikes. In small printing: After your 48 monthly payments of $259, you have a $11,270 balloon payment due at the end...

With friends like that, who needs enemies?

Exclamation Lmfao.

[QUOTE=Jaystn62;14693653]I have never posted in this section of the forum before and I may be wrong for posting here. Just a general bitch about people posting things for sale that not are what they claim to be and or asking you to pay full retail price for a used item that you can get it new at an online store for much less. And when you call them out on the price or the item they get defensive. And it's just not here. I see it on FB pages and others. Do people just not research what they have? Are they taking the word of a buddy? If you are posting something online and it has a part # then you should research it before you try to sell it. Evidently you can since you are selling it online. I'm venting I know. But I just seen someone trying to sell a stock Road King seat as a Sundowner on a social media site. When I suggested to check the part #. I was told if I wasn't buying the seat to leave him be...his words.[/QUO

I'll use a few words from your thread: Just a general bitch about people who can't mind there own freaking business.

There are clearly some differences with later model HD parts, but I came from the pre-1987 Jeep world. Still in it, despite my obsession with Harleys now.

I have, on occasion, tried to educate a seller when they have gotten it wrong. This mostly applies to Jeep CJ stuff that is 30 years old or more. Guys like me know the difference, but some guys don't. CJ people are a small group, so we look out for each other mostly.

I will try one time, to privately, kindly, educate a seller where he is wrong. Its generally someone who has no clue about old Jeeps.

. . . unless he has something awesome and I want it cheap. Ebay has mostly killed that though.

I have contacted a seller before when something was identified incorrectly.
Usually it is a seller that knows little about the product.
I wanted to save a fellow rider a headache over an honest mistake.
Most times the seller updates the listing or removes it while they research.
I sometimes receive a simple "thank you" during that process.
But i am the kind of person that turns the headlight off (ignition ****) on a parked motorcycle. Obviously, done after mentioning the situation to the folks nearest to the bike who most times shrug their shoulders and say "its not mine" ..
Questioning a sale price publicly is rather harsh.
If questioned privately, politely and seller responds rudely then the seller might have missed a sale. Most hobbies are composed of a small group. Maybe a friend or fellow rider was considering such an item....but now they will get "hey avoid xyz seller".

Some people are dummies, like when they try and sell something used for what it costs at the store. Once it leaves the store, it depreciates, for the same money I can buy it and unbox it myself and smell the new car smell.

Doesn't eBay still have the "buyer protection" of some sort? Used to be they had recourse if the item was not as advertised.

I like how you say you "look out for eachother", then want to stick it to the guy who doesn't know he has gold in his hands!

I'm pretty sure they do, but I've been slowly collecting parts for a project & bought the wheel 2 years ago. No big deal to exchange bearings & pick up a correct rotor. Was gonna reuse the stock rotor for now & this was a nice excuse to upgrade a bit. Lesson learned.

Yes they do.

If the item is not how it is described then you are entitled to get your money back and will get it back

My ol is a preferred seller on there and I have made probably close to 225 purchases so I know that if someone gets something not as advertised then getting reimbursed is no problem.

Never had a problem with anything from ebay.
