Since you got an 03 I would consider the S&S gear to gear cams. I had them
in my 2000 FXDWG, and I wish that I could remember the number but i
can't. I do remember my Indy telling me they were about one step above
stock, and they were great.

No need to bite your tongue. If you think I'm out of line step right up and say so. Sound shouldn't be the only reason for a cam choice and as the OP stated it was ONE ( 1 ) of his concerns, not the ONLY ONE. We're all good here.

I am looking mostly for low end torque and a harder hitting POTATO,POTATO sound. The cams I am considering in order of preference are Andrews 26 or 21. Any idea of expectations from these cam configurations, from personal experience, is appreciated. For this question, we will assume the exhaust will be the Propipe. TIA
I did the Andrews 21s . I did the job myself and it take a good 6hrs with the 100 dollar tool and I use the freezer trick for replacing the bearings. Also did the inside bearing and replace plunger and spring for oil press relief for better oil psi. And I finished the job with the stage 1 down load at a dealer.
The results lasted 2 weeks . The bike sounds a little beefier and louder , the bike felt like it gained a good 3 to 5 hp . But in just 2 weeks I was acclimated to it . The bike is a little harder to start and the one thing that bothers me the most is only when it gets above 85 to 90* . The motor will ping on heave throttle if I don't put premium gas in it . So with this said I would tell you to go with the Andrews 26s and if your not going to do this job yourself . It's not worth paying a shop for the little you will gain.

You did all that work and went with a dealer Stage 1 flash, and tried to run Regular gas?? Call FuelMoto and get a PC 3 or 5 with their map on it, and don't even think about running Regular gas with a cam. If I could only have one performance mod for a bike with EFI, it would be a "tuner" with a good tune or map.

I am running the Andrews 26G (gear drive) in my 95" 2000 Fatboy. The Andrews 21's are really great cams for the 88" stock motor.

I went with the Andrews 26 H cams , good low end torque. Fair idle. Rule to remember, the more lope at idle , the higher the rpm range the cam is made to build power.

The 21 is strong 1700-4800 rpm with a little earlier intake close then the 26, (30 vs 35), a little more lift (498 vs 490) and duration (220/228 vs 226/230.) The 26 comes on a little later but stays strong to 5200 rpm.
So it depends where you want the torque/hp, from what you said your looking for, the 21 would be the better choice, strong low end/mid range and a little more lope at idle.
The SE 204 is very similar to the Andrews 37, which has similar specs to the 26, with a 510 lift (SE204 is 508) It needs more compression to really shine!! 9.5+ is best. I just put the 37 in my Breakout 103 and love them, but it's 9.61/1 and I have plans for the top end that will bump that up!!

If you do anything with the top end, you're going to gain compression which has to be considered when choosing a cam.
