6'2" 245 lbs and have rides of 300 miles a day during the summer months & obviously the stock seat on my Street Glide sucked & would leave my ***, back & neck sore. Had a Corbin seat but that was too hard even though it looked good it wasn't comfortable. After a full summer of testing seats from different companies at various vender tents etc I can say with 100% confidence that my new C&C Solo Seat is awesome. Feels great on long rides, looks cool & the guys who I worked with from the company couldn't have been more accommodating to my requests. Ex: I wanted extra padding in specific areas & color stitching to match my custom paint job.... They were great. Good luck!
I like to ride long distances on my motorcycle.
Need help in finding a good seat for these trips
Thanks
I think it might help if folks knew what kind of bike and seat you have. Those factors will have a lot to do with answers. All answers so far are good ones based on each individuals' experience with their bikes.
For me, Mean City Cycle has been magic for my Heritage seat three years ago, and my current seat for long rides. They are a lot cheaper than buying a seat as well.
I have owned a Corbin and a Mustang. Both were great seats and very comfortable. The Corbin was like a brick for the first 4 or 5 hundred miles but felt great after it "broke in". The Mustang felt pretty good from the first day and in my opinion looked better than the Corbin.
My wife and I would not have anything but Mustang seats on our bikes. Best for comfort and long trips.
Another one for the Mustang. My first bike I thought the seat was OK, my wife thought the passenger seat left a lot to be desired. After looking at and trying several we decided on the Mustang Wide Touring. My wife absolutely loved it and I quickly found out that the stock seat that I thought was OK fell way short of the Mustang. We had many rides of 200-500 miles with our longest being just shy of a 800 mile day, don't think we would have been able to do it without the comfort of that Mustang seat. When I bought my second bike, my wife took a look at it on the day I brought it home and said.......I love it, now go order a Mustang seat today. I followed her orders
I will say I have a mustang seat on my bike and I HATE it. It's not comfortable for me. I start to squirm around after 40 miles or so. I'm looking into different seats myself.

That's the problem with asking this sort of question.
What do you expect people to say? 99% of the time, they will recommend what they own. Which means exactly what? Do they have the same "***-shape" as you? Do they have the same preferences as you? Do the people recommending "X" even know if they would actually like "Y" better?
Beyond all that, this is all highly subjective. Some guy spends a bunch of money on a new seat, he's more likely than not to talk himself into liking it. And if he can talk others into buying the same seat, his decision is further validated.
Personally, I just put a new seat on my FLHTC. My initial impressions are highly positive. But I won't bother saying what I got because I haven't put enough miles on it to really know and even if I love it, that doesn't mean anything to anyone else anyway.
Some folks bawk at the look of these seats. My a$$ doesn't care about looks, just comfort.
Rax
Yep. Sent in a Harley Tall Boy for their makeover. Started out on my 12 Ultra Classic and now rests on my 15 RoadGlide Special. Big, ugly, and expensive, but worth every cent.
You have to take a lot of measurements, photos, and a lot of info for the seat to be made specifically for you. Not a one seat fits all like most others.
Getting my stock seat redone by Mean City Cylces in 2 weeks. Can't wait, but unfortunately, it'll be a while before I can even test ride it since I'm going in for back surgery the day before my appointment to the seat redone. Looking forward to it.

If you are riding long distance, start experimenting with sheep wool and beads over stock seat. It works wonders, then go to Ironbutt.org and ask there. They are the long distance experts.
IBA folks will almost all say the Russel Day Long. It's where I got my recommendation from also. Like I said it's not pretty but who cares if you finally can ride all day in comfort.
