It's not inside info...it's common knowledge....I was one of the first people to say that they were not doing away with these models when the first of these threads came out, (in fact I even told jovimon he was wrong....but he isn't) because my color charts still showed them as available. But since we get all our confirmed info in Canadaabout a month after the U.S., that's why they were still showing. On my revised color chart, these models are GONE. It is no longer a big secret. THEY ARE GONE FOR 2008!. If you came in and gave me cash right now for a 2008 Deuce.......I'd give it back to you. The last thread on this subject explained how we as dealers get color charts, that show the next years models...so we can pick our colors and get our bikes ordered..........and the thread before that, explained the exact same thing.
So after 3 threads, for the people that still don't get it, you are losing
All dealers have received a letter from HD telling them about the discontinued models. They have to do this so no one is disapointed when they place an order for an o8 that does not exist.
Don't know where you have been but it is common for the Motor Co. to tell dealers which models are going away. The dealers have to order their first allotment of 08 bikes well before the 07 model run is over. They cannot sell 08 bike that won't be around so they are told. A simple concept...if you don't believe it, just wait until mid July when the dealers meeting takes place and the Motor Co. updates their website. Don't you find it odd that dealers all over the country are saying the same thing? Conspericy?
Itâs going to feel like something is missing when thenew 2008 motorcycles arrive, because a few ofthem wonât be joining us for the new model year. Therewill be models gone from every family this time, anda few are quite a surprise. In the Sportster line, we willnot see the flat track inspired XL883R returning for2008, and in the V-Rod family the Street Rod will begone. The Electra-Glide family will be affectedas well as the FLHRS Road King Custom. The biggest news, however, comes from the Dyna andSoftail groups. For the first time in nearly thirty years, the FXDWG Dyna Wide Glide will not make it to theshowroom floor. The Softails got hit the hardest as three models will not be returning, including the FXSTD Deuce,FXST Softail Standard, and the FLSTSC Springer Classic.Thatâs right, no more Springer in the line up atall. Donât be sad though, as I still have a few left of all ofthese models for 2007. Also, as with every year, I amsure that there will be something new to tempt your soul!John BurkettSales Manager Denneyâs Harley Davidsonhttp://www.denneysharleydavidson.com...2I28JAMQ1345R0or http://www.denneysharleydavidson.com...inanceapp2.asp

Don't know where I've been??? I've been posting in these threads since they started a month and a half ago. And for the first time, somebody is giving us something more than just a .jpg that says models are discontinued. Ok...so Denny's HD is saying this....and it may very well be the case. But then that should be the case at every dealer...and I've been to three different dealers recently, and not one of them claims any of this to be true..so what gives? Are you saying that some dealers have this info, but some don't??? I went to my local dealer this past week, and my friend who's a salesman there, said he'll know more after the dealer show. I don't think he has any reason to make that up, or hide anything...maybe he does...don't know.
What I do know is that I'm not in a position to say whether or not anything is written in stone...and until HD themselves release the 2008 model line, I take every single thing I read with a grain of salt.

The individual dealer could have a policy to keep it quite. Perhaps they don't presell 08 models. Perhaps the owner is keeping it from the sales team. Don't know why they would as it seems like a stupid policy. But, there are several different dealers who are saying the same thing and the fact that the color chart has them removed makes me believe it. This has been the normal mode for Harley.
Honestly, I really don't care as I was not in the market for one of these models anyway. I just find it fun to discuss and speculate on the new stuff. I am about 95% sure my next bike will be a Streetglide anyway.
