The wife is outfitting me with the necessary leathers for my B-Day to go along with the new Lowrider I'm picking up friday. Looking for input from the experienced folks here on what I should be looking for. A co-worker pointed out today that too much bling usually means not enuff protection. Back support was another item suggested too. Would this be like a built in kidney belt? Had to use them for my sledding days. Any help in this department will be greatly appreciated.
RE: Buying Leathers First Time ... Recommendations?
If you want an outstanding product, then check out Fox Creek Leather. It's a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. If you don't have a lot of money to spend, check out leatherup online.
RE: Buying Leathers First Time ... Recommendations?
I've found the heaver the leather the better protection.....a good pair of boots,,a good pair of gloves,,,a big pair of boob's for back rest....good to go.....
RE: Buying Leathers First Time ... Recommendations?
I never tried Fox Creek or Langlitz, but I've heard they're very good. I went with Schott leather and am very happy. Good, heavy leather and several styles. Check out their website, but if you want to buy, search discount sites elsewhere, you'll find them a lot less expensive through distributors. They also have textile jackets with body armor, but they import those.

All the products posted above are good, quality products. You can check them all out on your computer. Although pricey and made in China (which seems to bother alot of people) Harley also has good leather.
Be sure you like what you get and that it fits you because if you buy good stuff you'll still be wearing it 20 years from now.
RE: Buying Leathers First Time ... Recommendations?
My advice would be to make sure you try on whatever you are buying and make sure it fits good. Secondly spend some of your wife's money and get the good quality stuff. It may cost more on the front end but it will last forever. Don't be cheap.
