Smart engineer wanted
This finish assembly would be hinged to pivot /spring load against the mounted base plate, which enables the micro switch on/off action... You would never see screws
So it's two piece, and thin.. Push once anywhere.. The normally open micro switch closes tap again circuit opens
But maybe I don't fully get your idea..
The simpler the better

I think that's why people are being short with you.
I work with engineers all day long, they're okay....except they're engineers.
So you're trying to come off street savvy.......But real engineers are book smart and street stupid.
I don't try to impress in any direction atall..
I won't say my education.
I don't keer atall what you think.. .. engineers are ppl.. Some are varied and some maybe stereotypical according to your world view.. You need to get out more..
If you intended to offend me great.. It worked.. Wanna get closer, pm me.. We can meet in the middle..

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
My groups was called Tool Engineering, we designed virtually all the tooling for what was then a large manufacturing company, from small hand fixtures to Automation assembly machines that assembled our products on an assembly loop.
When in the prototype and assembly stages we came to work in Jeans a Tee's and would be crawling all over and under our machines, turning wrenches, getting dirty and greasy along side our technicians and toolmakers (Non-Union shop.) working everything out to make our machines production capable.
The "Office Engineers in our plant derisively referred to our group as "The Blue Collar Engineers".
They thought it was a put down, we were proud of it.
They wouldn't have lasted a month in our group.
And yeah, I would take an existing off the shelf component and add LED lights and a power pack to it if that was the effect that I wanted and I couldn't buy one.
I do see options that are drilled and wired and universal..
I don't warm up to that idea.
Mr Rash, Thx for your timely post
