Aye Chihuahua! I'll stick with my $49.99 multimeter, thanks...I don't do enough with electronics any more to justify that. Damn nice meter, though.

I'll bet that you spend your money on farkles before you buy a $500 meter.

Interesting read and pics. I always was curious of the power draw for the start steps.
Thanks. Whats next?

You could do this with a plain old multi meter, you know, you just would have a printable graph from it. And you'd actually have to watch your voltmeter while you do it.

I didn't even know you could print a chart like that from a multimeter. Thanks for sharing. Interesting.
My $3 Harbor Freight meter works well enough for most of what I. I do have an old Fluke from a yard sale, and a couple of others, too.
I have only a basic idea how to use them though. Just for simple stuff.

Thanks, all. Trust me, if it wasn't for my last job there wouldn't be a 287 in my toy box. I did this for a living for a spell, and the 287s, three of them, were my cheapest Flukes. If you want sticker shock, look up the 190-104. That will curl your hair.

When I retired I sold most of my stuff. Added $10K to the booze fund...
