Where is riders heaven? Take it a step further where is it so nice that you would even move there if you could?
I already did 20 years back. Turned in my Badger shirts for Volunteer shirts. Not a bad road around here. Leave the garage and ride for an hour, day or week. The best, maybe not. Paradise, yes.

Now, I prefer to ride it westward if you only have enough time for one direction, but both ways is REALLY awesome!

There's an almost flat tall grass field north of the road around mile marker 126 that is truly spectacular! And the gas stations... I can't say enough about 'em, just not to be missed!
There are some fun rides in SE Ohio!

I don't have a particular desire to live there, and I don't like how restrictive they are towards bike mods. I did like the area better than I thought I would. They also have the best fish taco's.
When that area slides off into the ocean, these East Tennessee and NC roads will look even better.

Definitely !! I really enjoy the whole corner of the state south of I70 and between cinci and wheeling.

But on topic, I prefer the Pacific coast highway to the appalachians

That's one thing I got caught out on. Where are the gas stations? I had the hardest time finding gas. Here they are everywhere, even in the remote mountains. I got lost in Santa Barbara and ended up going across San Marcos. It was a cool side trip, but my gas light was on the whole time!

It may be just me, but I'm detecting a very faint hint of sarcasm in this statement!

The best riding for me has been CO, UT, WY, MT and ID. Beautiful country. A friend of mine mentioned going to the mountains (Smokey Mountains) one time. I told him if you want to go to the mountains, you got to go west. The Smokeys, although nice, are really small. I have not been to California.

Lol.. Thats got to be in the back of peoples mind if who live out there. Thats a shame too. I hear so much how amazingly beautiful it is out along the Pacific coast but between the chance of the fault line going ape sh&t and the politics there i couldn't live there!

I had the opportunity to move anywhere in the country (for free) a few months ago when I retired from the Army. I chose Knoxville, TN for a number of reasons with no family, friends, or secured follow-on job in the area. My wife doesn't know how important being less than an hour away from the Tail of the Dragon was to me choosing Knoxville. We have lived here since late last summer and still love everything about it. The riding is phenomenal, if you like hills and curves.

California may have great riding but I would not move there because I don't like overly restrictive laws and high taxes.
