Default Bohn Armor Experience?

Still getting my ducks in a row and ran across Bohn body armor for riders- apparently you wear it under regular jeans or jackets and it gives you the protection without the cost of a purpose-made jacket or pants. Has anyone tried this and if so, is it a good buy? Moreover, if anyone has- god forbid- gone down in this stuff, did it work?

I have a riding buddy who uses that in the summer time and likes it. I may get a set.

Default Bohn Armor

I have been wearing it for years. It fits under regular clothing and is very comfortable. I've never had a crash with it. The armor pieces are easily removed so that the garment can be washed.

I have the pants, pretty comfortable, I like the fact they can be worn under jeans.

I have some. It seems like good protection. I have never gone down while wearing it.

I never ride without it.
I only use the bottoms, and always wear armored jacket; mesh or leather depending on season.
I have also never gone down, on the road, but have many in the woods on dirt.
I have the very thin version, it is not cool, but livable even in 95* southern summers, but cooler than other protection and bandages.
I also use the leather or kevlar lined jeans with the bohn.
I would highly recommend, at most any speed, jeans protection lasts about 2 seconds and then it's just skin then bone................

I just borrowed a set and tried it on. I like the way the armor stays close to my body in all the right places. I am going to order a set.

I wear the Bohn shirt when its really too hot and humid around here to ride without getting heat stroke. I'm sure it's not as good protection as even armored textile stuff, but for me, it's better than nothing. I do like the way it fits.

I've used the CoolAir Armored Pants and the Airtex Armored Shirt for a couple of years. The pants aren't something you want to spend the day walking around in but they work well for situations where you are able to pull them out from under the jeans on arrival. The shirt does well under a light jacket. Once it's warmer I'll wear a vest over the shirt. The shirt and pants work well for me.
