My bet would be on a break in a wire, probably inside the insulation just before a connector. I HATE electric intermittents.

I have to give credit to Laconia Harley Davidson. As you remember I broke down throwing codes P1600 and P2105. This happened Wednesday on the way home from a 1000 mile service performed by them. I usually do my own service but I had reasons for having them do the 1000 mile. On the way home the bike died several times 100 miles from them and 20 miles from home after they were closed. I got the bike home and emailed the service manager explaining everything.

Brian the service manager called and talked to me in the afternoon, yesterday. He explained he was talking to Harley and another good technician he knows and they all said there are only 2 things that can throw that code. The ECM or throttle body. He had them shipped overnight so I wouldn't miss out on Memorial day weekend riding. I was at their dealership before they opened and I was the first bike in. Within a couple of hours they were done and said they found an additional code for one of the switch packs that I was unaware of. The finished it all, washed the bike and had me on the road by noon. The ride home was trouble free and uneventful except for the traffic from Boston to my house. What should have taken 20 minutes took an hour and a half.

I want to thank Brian and the service department for going above and beyond!

I'll update if anything shows itself in the coming days, weeks, and or months!

Good to hear that you got the problem resolved. Sounds like infamous Chuck could learn a thing or 2 from Brian.

Did they say whether it was the ECM or the throttle body? Or did they actually replace both?

He stated above that both was done and then they found another issue that was also fixed...

Yes as the previous poster stated I did say they replaced both and a switch pack. I am not generally a parts replacer kind of guy and like to know what was wrong but...It probably cost less in the long run than trying to chase an intermittent electrical gremlin than replace both parts.
