Coming up on 5k on my 14 Street Glide and thought I'd ask for opinions on the best tires. Live in Florida, so lots of heat and humidity for most of the year.
What don't you like about the OEM Dunlops? You probably have another 75% tread left or another 6 years at your current rate!
I'm on my 2nd set of Pirelli Night Dragons. I have them on my Softail Custom. Love them for their performance, grip and smoothness. On my first set I got 11k out of the rear tire and would have easily gotten 15k from the front but I swap both front and rear tires at the same time and give my good front tire to a friend who seems to refuse to buy new tires. I have 6k on my current set now and they're wearing well. They may not get the miles that some other tires get but they're the best tires I've ran on any of my bikes over the years. I'm happy getting 10 to 12k out of my tires.
I also have a Low Rider that I haven't ridden much over the last 3 1/2 years that has Metzler ME880's. These tires have 12k on them and there's still plenty of tread...at least 5k more. I know Metzler's aren't supposed to get that many miles out of them but these have and I ride hard. Problem is the tires are 6 to 7 years old and beginning to dry rot. Since I don't ride this bike often I want to go cheap for the next set of tires. Looking into Shinko 777's. Read some great reviews and I know quite a few guys who run Shinko's on their sport bikes who love them because they're inexpensive and perform well both in dry and wet weather. For $160 I can get a front and rear for my Low Rider.

I got about 21000 miles on the front, and about 14500 miles on the rear, of my last set of Metzeler ME880s. I have ME888s on Reaper now, and they're supposed to have even longer tread life. The handling of both the ME880s and ME888s is far superior to the stock Dunlops, and they perform almost as well in the rain as on dry pavement.

Cheers!
Just put a set of ME888s on my RKC. So far so good...handle better than the Dunlop D402.
I lived in FL for a while...stock tires lasted me 15k. If you decide to try something else I think you'll be happy with many of the recommendations here.
