I wasn't there so no judgement on your reaction or feelings. And no defense of the ***'s attitude towards you either. However, playing devil's advocate, you didn't say it was a right turn only lane and you did say that you pulled up to the stop then turned on your signal. If that is all correct supposition, I have been in that situation many times and did what the biker did as far as pulling up on your right. (If you had your signal on well in advance of the stop I would agree totally with you but it's not clear from your post). No different to my lane splitting to the front of every light and line of cars whether on the right or left. With the heavy traffic here I could be passing a dozen cars on the right to get up to the stop/light to turn. By the time I get to the front enough time has passed that I can see if the front driver is turning or not. However, these days you can't rely on anyone to use their turn signals or if they do it's after they've already started turning which ain't much help. So I assume anyone I'm passing on the right, whether stopped or moving, may turn at any second. I pass in that situation very carefully while trying to see the driver's face in his right mirror. If anything looks fishy or I can't see the driver I wait but if I can see the driver is looking forward and appears to have no intention of turning then I go.
Again, no question of your post just an observation as has happened to me numerous times.
Also, if it makes any difference, I'm in CA and it's not illegal to do that since lane splitting is allowed. A cop could see it differently and say dangerous but that scenario happens here all the time.
In Cali if filtering do you take on the responsibility of "accidents" when they happen? What I'm trying to figure out is in Idaho you can proceed through a red light after it cycles and doesn't notice your motorcycle. The thing is anything that happens is pretty much considered your fault at that point. They explain it as you do not have the right of way. I realize this is set up so people don't think they can just go and everyone has to stop for them.
I'm not a cop, nor am I responsible for how somebody else rides/drives. If nothing happens in a NEAR miss- it's just that, like hand grenades and horseshoes either it did or didn't.
We waste too much time trying to be like bitches instead of tending to our own affairs and life.
Ride on.

Kind of my thought as well man. It's a little odd that he would go around on the right when other vehicles might be turning that way, but other than that it really isn't a big deal.
As for the rest of your story OP, it sounds like you let road rage get the best of you, initiated a confrontation with this guy, then split before you got your *** kicked. Smooth.

So I was riding to work about 6:30 Friday morning and I come up into the right turn lane of a minor street onto a major street. A guy was sitting in a pickup truck with his right signal on, at the red light. We have right turn on red here. After waiting about 30 seconds, I realize he's just sitting there texting. I gave a minor toot of the horn, and he looks at me in the mirror and goes back to texting. There was room to his right, so I went past him to the right and made the turn on red. Like I said, minor street onto a major one, long lights there.
Anyway, he made the turn after me, sped up, got next to me, and started screaming his head off at me. That's not the kind of thing I'm going to engage in, so I just waved to him. Seemed to **** him off more.
Just seemed like a weird coincidence. It takes all types. Be careful out there.
