LOL! Gotta remember that...

I've been thru the Dragon's Tail many times. I ride my own ride, but will stay right and wave others around when it's safe to do so.

I've rode the dragon about 12 times now I ride a bit hard but not to put myself in danger, if a squid comes up behind me. Don't just pull over, I wait until it's safe to do. Too many places to ***** up on that road and I am not putting myself at risk for some asshatt breaking the law. There is a posted speed limit and it is a state maintained highway, therefore traffic laws applied. This argument is like Oil threads....

Tough call because I wasn't there to see what transpired. If you pulled over to let him pass (and slowed down), you did the right thing. If your friend didn't do that well, I can understand why the guy got upset. I don't think the guy on the sport bike should have copped an attitude with you or your friend though. Maybe an explanation of his "road rules" would have been more appropriate.

Would have been cooler if he had taken out his pistol, turned around and taken a shot at him. Oh wait, it was another bike, not a dump truck. Never mind.

This is exactly correct imo. I've wanted to pull over to take pictures and it's tough to find a spot on that road, other than the designated pull offs.

And the guy was a douchebag. I've been held up on that road plenty and never had a hissy fit at the turn around. So what does the guy do when he gets stuck behind an RV on that road? Follow them to the next gas station and threaten the RV driver in front of his family?

It's a windy, narrow public road loaded full of drop offs, rock walls, cops, cars, trucks, RVs, slow riders, fast riders, and anything in between. If you get your knickers in a twist over getting slowed down there, you need to up your dosage.

And yes, if someone actually did get on my 6 there (which hasn't happened yet), I would do my best to let them by. But I wouldn't endanger myself to do it.

I'm an *******; I like to ride fast on challenging roads. If you want to sightsee, that's your business. But don't force me to stay behind you when you can clearly see I want to go faster. If your ego's so fragile that you can't handle not being in front, you should probably find another hobby.

It has nothing to do with "obligation", and everything to do with being considerate to other riders.
Just to make this a little more clear. He thought we should PULL OFF the road, not just get over. Seems as though I am the bad guy here. He had plenty of places to swing out and come around the both of us but he chose not to do that. Oh by the way I was only posting an experience and not whining. Like your bike..

I do agree that being on a road like the Dragon "proper etiquette" would be to yield to the faster scooters when a safe area ( ain't to many straightaways there ) presents itself ... I'd be hard pressed to take a lecture from "Speedy Gonzales" ... I'm afraid it wouldn't end well :>)
