Help me
Ok guys I bought a 2000 harley sportster 883. About 4 months ago I sent it into a local shop to have the heads shaved and new head gaskets and rocker gaskets put on as well. Needless to say the experience with the shop was horrible. Now I've got it home and less then 500 miles she's leaking out the front left head. Now I called them and asked for an explanation and they told me I had to pay them more money to retorque the heads. So I bought a harley manual and did it myself. It's still leaking and won't stay on in idle, just dies unless I keep giving it gas. Now the leak is the same. I did the job by the book so I'm starting to think they didn't shave my heads and they were bad enough to ruin the new gaskets. Any help would be great don't have the money to take it to a shop. Throw me a bone guys.

The shop is jerking you around. You do not re torque heads on an Evolution Sportster. The top end needs to be taken apart again & the job needs to be done again by either you or a reputable shop & use Cometic gaskets this time.
Tell the "local shop" (HD dealership?) that you are going to put them on front street about their **** poor work.
If a dealer you might get some action.
If an indy, then I would be looking for another one.
