Default Map sensor issues

Hello all,

I am pretty new to the forum and really enjoy it. Looking for some help out there. I have a 2011 FLHTK which I bought in January with 7900 miles. Last April has a misfire issue and limped the bike to a Harley dealership in Iowa ( I'm from Illinois ) the bike misfired badly. After two hours they found a faulty MAP sensor. My dealer I bought it from was kind enough to reimburse me. No problems since until last Friday. Started the bike and misfired again. Took it to the dealer and I found out they replaced a MAP sensor before I bought it which makes 3 including the factory one. The MAP is bad again and they are calling Harley since we all know something else is taking out the MAP sensor. Anyone hear of this or had this problem ?? Maybe some ideas? Thank you in advance !!

I would be checking the 5 volt reference voltage from the ecu. If that is dropping out or going to a lower or higher voltage its going to mess up the monitored signal back from the map sensor. I do know that reversion can also cause a map sensor to fail, but you need big cams and a lot of timing to cause that. for the most part the map is a rather reliable sensor. I bet they find the ecu is being the cause, unless there is a wire issue, that may be giving the map a bad time. More diag. needs to be done here and we don't have enough info to help any more, sorry
