I was in a similar situation last year and I sat down and crunched the numbers and a brand new bike with 0.9% on a 60 month loan would end up costing me less than $500 in interest fees for the Entire loan if minimum payments were only made...... Some guys are paying that much a year on their bikes due to a higher interest rate on an older bike.
The only deal I see from HD is 2.9%. A new bike is roughly 23-25 grand. A used RGS is 18-21. I'm not math wiz either, but I'd save money going used, especially if it had mods.

I just don't know the HD market, so don't know what kind of offers to throw.

The private used market hasn't yielded much. Most people paid a ton of money for their bike and are upside down on it, and are asking a lot.

I found a 2015 denim black RGS with

Seen this on quite a few of the Rushmore's @ several dealerships. Idk? Maybe it's just a regional thing cause a buddy of mine out in KS tried telling me the same thing that the best deal is 2.9

I went and took pics @ a dealership to show him......

Interesting. They put a sticker over the actual 2.99% that HD advertises. I'd have to go check the dealers. I still don't know that I could get a '16 anywhere close to what I want to pay.

All I'm saying is when I stop @ dealerships I see used 15 and up Rushmores no matter the miles starting out $20k. The 14 Streetglides I seen a few in the 18's and that's with 10k+ miles.....

So you might think your paying less $$$ but after 5 years of 2.9% + interest your gonna wind up paying more than it would have cost to buy a new 1 when it's all said and done

Ok, then get real. Decide what you can afford for monthly payments, and how long you can make those payments for,, and shop.
When you need to start pissing around with minuscule variations of/in interest rates,, then you can't really afford the bike to begin with. Beyond making payments you need insurance and above all the ability to spend money enjoying it.
It costs money to ride, it costs money to eat when you arrive at where your riding too, it costs money to participate in events,,, etc,,,
Quit Dreaming, sit down and talk to real people with real life "loan" numbers that apply only to you,, then shop.
If you don't have a clue,, then you don't. Get real.

The **** are you rambling about?

I'm not the one talking about interest rates. Someone else pointed out something. I know what I can afford, but I don't know what fair pricing is in this market.

You're a ray of sunshine and a ton of help. Thanks for contributing.

Then Start Shopping.
What's fair in my location does not apply to your location, there is no known "national" price of a bike for sale.
There is a glut of used Harleys on the market, HD passed a mandate months ago to their dealers that only 10% of stock can be used bikes (find it here) so everyone is trying to sell their old bike for top dollar,, guess what, they are not going to get it.
So "shop" around, it's a buyers market. You wanna know what fair pricing is? Look in your local market.
It ain't rocket science.

I recently had an opportunity for a new Street Glide Special, new for $21,500, I realize it is not a Road Glide but similar pricing. I see used 15's with 3,000 miles for $17,500, again these are Street Glides as opposed to Road Glides. This is in the Houston, TX area.
