What do YOU like for style?

As you noted...the Sporty isn't the best for long 2-up trips. Sorta tight. Plenty of people do it..but yeah...a big twin chassis would be more comfy for 2-up long hauls.

As noted above, the "Dyna" models (FX) are like big Sportsters. They come in plenty of flavors...Low, Street Bob, etc etc. Subtle differences, but the important point is...they're more room for 2-up, and luggage, and with a big twin...more relaxed on the highway. Several bikes ago I had a Street Bob...that I sorta changed to an old Super Glide look. Was totally comfy for me and wife on the bag...and I had throwover saddle bags.

Softails...plenty of styles, FL, FX, (st) depending on what fork/front end is one them. Also very comfy for 2-up...more relaxed than a Dyna chassis. It's what I currently have now. Works best for me because of my bad lower back, and how..on a Softail, you sit lower..."in" the bike instead of "on" the bike....sorta like a lazy-boy recliner. I'm 6'5" and 220 lbs, wife is 5'5" and around 135.

Touring models..."FL"...the Glides. Street Glide, Road Glide, Road King, etc. the rolling couches. Lotsa saddle bag room, most come with big windshields up front. Since it's a touring bike...you can load up and be comfy on the highway for long rides. But will you be happy doing work commuting, or around town stuff, short rides. Tis up to you. I've had an FLHS...basically the predecessor to the Road King.

As for me, I prefer the more "naked" bikes...not the full blown touring. Doesn't take me long to toss throwover saddle bags on, slide a rear luggage bag on the sissy bar, have the wife hop on the back..and we're gone! And for the rest of the week..she's a solo naked rider! I'm not a fan of windshields and stereos and heaters and infotainment systems on bikes...I prefer old fashioned simple. but that's just me.

Try a few different chassis types and see what works for you!

Any bike in the touring line will work great for you.

Make sure to get a passenger backrest at least. A tourpack (can be detachable) adds weight, but is more comfortable for her and carries a lot of stuff.

Enjoy
