I predicted you'd show up back in post #6. I just didn't think it would take a year.

Have not per se dropped a bike but have had a few hit the ground. Once while at a toll lane in the early 2000s, back when you had to drop change into the basket, my foot slipped on a small puddle of anti-freeze and I guided the bike down and then got it back up. Once, I got off a bike without putting the kickstand down and heard a horrible crash. No real damage. Things happen.

Jesus quotes like this **** me off.

There's 2 kinds of riders ones that have wrecked and ones that have not.
There's tons of people that make it through their lives riding motorcycles and never wreck.

Guess what? There's 2 kinds of airline flights as well.

Those that crash and those that don't.

See how dumb that is? Seriously, stop saying stupid **** like this.

There's two kinds of people. Those that win the lottery and those that don't.

Gah!

Ha, this was meant to be a joke. I couldn't figure out how to put some sort of smiley face or whatever after this.

We were on a scenic ride, wife and I. I pulled into a scenic view spot (at Salt River Canyon) that was not level by a lot. The bike leaned to the downhill, I put my foot down and it was just enough to throw the weight more to the down hill. I could not hold the weight, the wife got off but it was still to far over, I was able to set it down gently and not scratch anything but did break the break lever, there was still enough lever to continue the ride.

I went to buy the break lever and the guy "dropped it huh?". Asking how did he guess, he said if you buy one you dropped it :-) then all the stories at the parts counter started.

Yep it happens to everyone eventually.

Only time I dropped a bike was while moving it around in the garage.

I dropped mine twice in the same day.
First time, the spring on the stand went. Kickstand wasnt down, and I jerked WAY too hard, causing it to lie down the other way. Stupid.
Second time, same parking lot, as I was about to leave, I came to the top of the lot, and it sloped to my right. I got my left foot down, not the right one...I leaned right with the bike, and laid her down. The incline was such that it took 3 of us to right it.
Boy, I felt like an *** that night.....

I think if they touch the ground it counts as a drop, and if you hear a horrible crash, that is per se a drop as well. js

Right on the subject, do they make a "REAR" Crash bar for a 2009 Harley Sportster 1200? I have a front crash bar to protect the front but what about the middle and the rear of the bike..
