What do you mean it broke? Something like the external hex shape got rounded out?

The nut is fine ..it sheared off halfway down the threads ..leaving the inner sleeve on the crank with the other half of threads...cant get it busted loose to save my life ..maybe making a tool to surround the sleeve and lock in the slots ?

I've had to split the compensator extension with small cutoff wheels before after somebody red loctited the hell out everything then twisted the end off the nut like yours. You cut 2 grooves half way round the shaft from each other being very careful not to get into the output shaft or the rotor then use a small chisel and tap it lightly a few times in the groove to split the halves. Get the mapp gas torch, a pipe wrench or big channel locks, heat the remainder of the nut and take it off.

Without seeing your situation, I will say try heat on the outer sleeve only, metal expands when hot and it might slide off
