I personally have not used them but friends have. On a trip to Sturgis a couple years ago three of us were able to get away for the two weeks and ride up and back. Four other members of our party had to ship bikes to and from Sturgis due to not being able to get away for the full two weeks. They used Haul bikes and I know the bikes arrived as scheduled in Sturgis and as far as I now arrived back home after Sturgis as scheduled. They were pleased with the service and felt their bikes were taken care of. I know a couple of those guys have used them since as well.

My guess is you are letting yourself worry over nothing, plus at this point it is out of your hands. But I know I would probably be worrying as well if it were mine and I was waiting on it

Would insurance even cover the bike because you voluntarily handed the bike over to the thief?

In today's day and age, the insurance company could successfully argue in a court of law that the insurer had ample time and resources to investigate and back out of using the company that stole the motorcycle.

On top of that, the company might have a disclosure in the contract that was signed that they are not responsible for any damages, lost or stolen items.

But I am sure everything will work out fine. It is not like the internet is full of people trying to get one over on someone for their own personal gain.

Not sure of the ins and outs of the personal insurance you have on your bike when you let it go with a shipping company, but that is a good question.

Looking at the Haul Bikes website it appears they cover your bike up to 15K with a $500 deductible as part of the cost to ship. You can increase that amount or reduce the deductible by adding a little to the cost
Is My Bike Insured?
Yes. With your quoted price, your bike is insured up to $15,000 and has a $500 deductible (payable by you). You can also increase the shipment valuation for $35 per additional $5,000 of value. For a fee of $50, you can eliminate the $500 deductible from any damage claim.

The dealer I bought my out of state bike from used them. Keep in mind that their business model has bikes sitting at a dock for a while before they get a full trailer, then they use a contract owner operator.

My bike went from Montana to Pennsylvania to California. Took them two months to get my bike to me but it showed up in one piece and the driver was a good guy. His next stop was delivering three bikes to the local dealer in Sacramento.

Your bike is fine

Maybe you should put a good review on line for others who may go through a situation similar to the one you experienced.

Good deal and no you can't always believe everything you read on the net because there's always going to be pros and cons about some things.
