I have a way that I drive home from work around 6am thru a pretty small town. The street lights stay green in the most heavily traveled direction unless a car comes to the intersection then the light changes. When I am on my bike the light wont change. I am over the place on the road where I need to be.
So what do you guys/gals do?
Turn around, run the light, wait for a car that can make the light change?
If it doesn't turn.... I go when safe....A lot of the newleft turn lights around here are being set to 'flashing yellow'.... meaning you can turn left if there is no on coming traffic....Brilliant if you ask me....but the accident rate will probably go up...
saw another thread on here about this. Can't find it right now though. There is a device that magnet mounts to the bottom of your bike that supposedly will trip the d@#n thing. I also heard that you can put your jiffy stand down on the corner of the metal detecting thingamujigger and that make it "see" your bike.
I see yer from Carolina, here in GA they passed the law that you can run the light if its clear and after you wait 20 seconds. You might wanna check local law there tho.
Someone else said that if you put your tire on the indented line it will change,
that also worked on the parkway a few days ago for me...

If I'm not mistaken, I believe they just passed that law here. Don't take my word for it though. Check into it for yourself. I always run that damn red light.

Some of the older sensors here are the magnetic loop, seems to work ok if I get the engine right over top of a junction of two wires.
As they're getting repaved, it seems colorado is going w/ some kind of optical sensor that I can't trip no matter what I try. An abate instructor said "wiggle your handlebars and flash your lights high and low" but neither of those seem to work. I give it 30 seconds and run it when clear.

There's a similar law here in TN. Basically as long as we stop, we can procede when it's safe.
