I've learned one hard fact in 45 odd years turning wrenches for a living, don't argue with part time socket jockey's it's a waste of time.

Thanks guys. The two outside garage walls are insulated drywall with exterior brick. The door has good insulation and seals. We get snowy, cold winters here occasionally, so condensation in a warm garage could be an issue. Bottom line though, there is no rust on the bike or anything else in the garage.

Now that I know what to do, I just need to find a weekend with enough free time to follow-up the start with a good thorough servicing and tire change.

I hope the insurance company won't gouge me too badly for a 2nd bike on the road. I am the only licensed rider in the house, but we pay through the nose for insurance here.

I really appreciate the advice from you all. I will update the thread after I get her started.

Ins company should show you a decrease in cost on your first bike when you add the 2nd, that has always been my experience. Even more so if you have other things house, vehicles insured with the same company. Hopefully that will happen in your case.

Keep in mind those of us that gave you tips did not do it for free, we demand pics when you get her back on the road LOL

Good luck to ya and I hope she fires right up with little trouble

What everyone else said is correct BUT once you get this fired up, before you go on a serious or a ride of speed or substance - Change the tires, lube the cables

I expect they will want a grand for the second bike. The policy on the first bike costs me over $1100 (CAD) per year. That's for a middle aged man with a clear driving record, no accidents, no charges, completion of a recognized rider safety program, 34 years with a motorcycle licence, and two trucks and a house insured with the same insurance company. For a 12-month policy in a 6 month riding season!

Many EVO's don't like synthetic oil, and will leak when using it. I always use dino oil.
