Many years ago my daughter was three years old and we were visiting my parents. My mom had about 10 geese. My daughter and I were walking along the driveway when the geese came up to us. They gathered around my little daughter (the geese and she were the same height) and started to bob and weave. My daughter had a little stick in her hand about 6 inches long and she started waving it to protect herself. She was not scared at all and she kept them at bay for a couple of minutes while I stood beside her. I was so proud of her. Then I scooped her up and ran the geese off. She is 24 years old now with 3 children of her own. Still one of my precious memories.

About 15 years ago I was in an office parking lot turning around on my old Virago and a goose made a run at me so I accelerated away. Suddenly I saw a shadow on the bike and on the road and I looked up and that crazy sob was dive bombing me from above. I swerved to the side and damn near hit a lamp post and he veered off and returned to what I presume was a nest or something. Very protective indeed. Can you imagine hitting a post over something that stupid? And you knowwhen they found me the goose would be nowhere to be found so I would just look like some idiot that ran straight into a fixed object for whatever reason in an empty parking lot. That is unless the goose dive bombed the ambulance when it showed up. I'll never forget that damn honking above me. Crazy freakin bird.
