I've tried starting mine in the driveway a few separate times for practice. Never could get it stated with out the lights flashing. Even sitting in the driveway with manual in hand. Got me?
While your going through the disarming process, do the lights blink? Once the lights stared blinking I stopped, figured it wasn't working.

I took off from the house one day after giving the bike a good wash. Went to gas up.. Didnt realize I didnt have the fob on me until I got ready to leave the pump (apparently the fob was in my garage, just close enough to allow me to start it when I left for the gas station)... Glad I remembered the code lol...

Leave it on the kickstand, turn the ignition on and start to enter the code when the odometer flashes "enter code". If you wait too long to start to enter code, the light will flash and it is too late. At that point, turn the ignition switch back off and wait. Can try a few seconds later.

If you turn the switch on AND lift off the kickstand, its gonna alarm.

Would alarm for 15 seconds, stop, beep twice and then alarm for 15 seconds again. Did this for about 10 times and then reset back to normal where I could enter the code.

Did this scenario 3 separate times and all were after 50 or so miles. May also be tied into the number of code overrides that are performed. Couldn't discern a sold pattern.
Interesting. You're the first I've heard of that has a lengthy ride with multiple uses of the override. I suspect most (if any) use it once to get out of a jam, but rarely rely on the code only for any continual usage.

Thanks for the info. Looks like the system does not like the usage of the code only.

If the lights start flashing, that means the alarm is being activated.
You can not bypass the security system under those conditions.

You can't move the bike at all when your trying to enter the bypass code.
With the bike just sitting there, turn on the ignition and go through the process of bypassing security.
If you move the bike (even lifting it upright off the side stand) the alarm will activate and prevent you from bypassing the system.

If done correctly, the lights will not start flashing.
