So it really HAS to be lemon? And it HAS to be Pledge brand? I'm not sure I have any Lemon Pledge..may have to try to pick up some. Tell me specifics about the application. How clean should the bike be when you use it?
I use a microfiber cloth to apply it. I spray the Pledge on the cloth and NOT on the bike. I wipe a small section of the bike and then follow with another microfiber cloth, this one dry. Work in small sections and you will be amazed with the results. I don't have a windshield, but I use it on all the paint and chrome on my bike as well as on the mirrors and lights.
Now if only there was something this easy for the wrinkle black parts of the bike.... Anyone?.....
So do you wash the bike first and use the Lemon Pledge instead of a polish/wax or is it used as a wash ? Damn, I hate being stupid. [sm=dontgetit.gif]
I use it like any other instant detailer spray...just spray on and wipe off for anything but the really heavy crud...great on water spots etc. I don't believe it leaves a wax layer, but water beads off the surface after using it, so it seems it doesn't eat the wax, already applied, off either.
I always use micro-fiber cloths as well. Spray and wipe, then flip to dry section of the cloth and buff.
As far as the wrinkle black goes...S100 makes a product called 'engine brightener'...just spray it on and let it dry and your black engine looks brand new. A little $7.00 can goes a long way. Pig Snot also makes a product for this called "Pig Spit" that is available at Walmart here...I haven't tried it yet but heard the same great things about it....I will give it a shot when I finally run out of the S100.
Don't feel bad..I feel the same way. I'm still kind of in the dark on it. It seems wiping it directly on a dirty bike would cause scratches..??
Sorry, I left off the step off cleaning all of the dirt off the bike with warm water and a microfiber cloth. I assumed that was a given. Yes, buffing anything on a motorcycle over dirt and bugs will result in scratches.
Sooo it's basically just supposed to be used like a wax? Ughhhh...gah damn...lol. CAN SOMEONE GIVE US A STEP-BY-STEP??
Wash your bike as you normally do. Make sure its nice and dry. Spray Pledege on a rag, and wipe down one part of bike with it. Now take a clean rag and wipe off the residue. I did this for the first time on Wednesday, and man does my bike ever look good. It seems to repell the dust better too.

OK. So basically it is no different than waxing your bike as in the past ? Maybe a little quicker? [:-]
I too read that lemon pledge works great. Lot's of stuff is suppose to but don't. I don't get impressed easily but that chit works great. Whood a thunk it?

Meguires quik detailer does the same thing and is made for clear coat finishes. It removes light dirt and dust and does not scratch. Spray it on wipe it off. Slick and shiny. I've used this for years on all my bikes and it keeps the bikes finish deep and glossy between polishing and waxing. Excellent product.
