only by reading about them and hearing a few in person... They are only about 2 Db's quieter per V&H's testing and my ear hears a deeper tone VS stock baffles...
There are slightly (less than 10%) quieter, however the tone is deeper so I think they are less annoying.
However they are not quiet enough to please a neighbor who's giving you grief.
I run Big Radius myself. These pipes are loud. Big Shots, Short Shots, Big Radius...I love the sound. I roll out of my street, as quietly as possible. None of my neighbors complain, but do agree that they are loud. Sorry you have to deal with a neighbor who's not cool about it.
I think the big question is, are your pipes not legal as is? You might get that checked out and then stop worrying about it. It's what I'd do.
I am thinking of buying them, is there any difference in shound, less noisy...
I love the noise but the neighbour is giving me **** because of my bike and I am afraid the cops will see I have no baffles....
I have heard that quiet baffles do not lower the noise, just make it slightly different,,,,is this true?
Quiet baffles actually only lower the sound by 4 decimals. The sound is also a little deeper and throaty. I personally like the deeper sound better.
I've run both in my Short Shots and in my experience the quiet baffles are definitely quieter at lower throttle settings. Once you crank it there isn't much difference. Maybe try them and just ease on the throttle while around town.
I can also say that on my bike the quiet baffles produced more torque than the stock baffles. When running the stock I have to jet the carb richer to get even close to the same torque and thus I get worse gas mileage.
Since I live in the country though I kept the stock baffles in and crank it like I stole it
