Default Suspension questions

I posted this in the Touring section but only got one reply so I thought I'd toss it out here and see if I can get a few other point of views.

I have an 09 Road King Classic that's fitted with the HD profile low rear shocks and fork springs by the previous owner. I do not like how the bike rides- it feels stiff and harsh plus I scrape the kick stand every time I take a left turn. When I bought the bike the PO threw in the original stock air shocks and fork springs so I am probably going to put the bike back to stock. My last Road King was an 03 and I liked how it rode with the stock suspension. So I got a couple of question for you guys
1- Is the stock suspension on an 09 similar to the ride quality of the stock 03 suspension?
2- Will going back to the taller shock and fork spring raise my ride height up a little so I don't scrape hard parts all the time?
3- Will I need to replace the kick stand with a taller one?

And before anyone suggests Ohlins or Progressives, I don't have the extra cash to sink into it and if I did, convincing the wife that the bike needs another mod will be tough LOL.

The likely reason those items were installed was to lower it, so replacing the stock ones should put it back to stock height, assuming there were no other mods involved.

1. Difference could be wheel diameter vs. tire sidewall. So I don't know.
2. YES
3. Not unless it was replaced with a shorter one.

You might even find take-off CVO shocks that are better than air shocks. Also some change the oil (yes there is oil) in the stock air shocks for better dampening.

Progressive make shocks for Drag Specialties, I bought a pair in hopes of them lasting a year or 2 until I can upgrade to something better, they run right at $200.00.
Also local Craigslist and Ebay might have something else that will work.
You can also change the front fork oil to a different weight and see how you like the ride.
