Default Dyno Tune Question

Bought my bike used from a dealer, took it home and found the Cobra Fi200 fuel management under the seat. I had one of those on other bikes before so the settings I saw seemed a bit weird and I turned on them. About a week later I had the opportunity to speak to the original owner of my bike. He informed me the bike had been Dyno tuned and instantly I felt a bit sick. I didn't make real big adjustments but for the life of me can't remember what they were set to. Don't know a whole lot about the Dyno machine and what it entails but can they just simply run it and reset the fuel management without a whole lot of time spent on the machine. Cost is what I'm thinking and do they have to redo a whole big deal to fix my stupidity.

You'll pay the same at most dyno shops no matter how long it takes to dyno. I guess lesson learned, leave it alone next time.

Absolutely on the lesson learned Buelligan666. I do have a bad habit of tinker to try and make it better, guess this one is to just be left alone and just turn key and ride. Any idea what it cost to Dyno Tune? ( BallPark )?

Guy local to me was $350. Said he'd do tweaks for free as long as I didn't change anything (Exhaust, cams, etc).

Maybe, just Maybe,, the dyno-guy the original owner used has the map for your bike. It might be worth your time to hunt him down and ask.
Next time remember, If it ain't broke,, Don't fix it.

Interesting. According to all I could find on these tuners they don't rely on 02 sensors for fuel maps rather they adjust to throttle position and crank positions sensors. No fuel maps, no computers and no Dynotune required. What exactly did you tweak?

Wow that is interesting. It's a Cobra Fi2000 and has 3 pot adjustments as they call them, and each have a light , Green for idle and cruise speed, Yellow for acceleration power, and Red which is the top end power and takes over completely at 4000rpm. Each pot has numbered settings from 0 to 10 and from my understanding they control amount of fuel accordingly for all 3 situations of the throttle. Also interesting enough my exhaust is a RB Racing LSR 2 into 1 pipe that the previous owner told me was custom made and he had to give the engine specs ( cams L/D, fuel injected or not and so forth ) and then the pipe was custom built to the bike and supposedly cost him almost 2 thousand dollars. And the o2 sensors are not present. as far as what I tweaked, Cobra has an instruction page with preset numbers which was close to where they were but for instance the green light sets at 2.5 from the factory and he had it set 1.5 so I thought it was lean and bumped it up a smidge. did the same for the other settings as well. Last nite I went by memory and set the settings back where they were and made a dramatic change for the better but I'm still edgey about the settings if it was dyno tuned I'd like to have it back. Learned a hard lesson on this one I'll tell ya.
