2006 was the first year HK radio, besides that I think they are the same bike, color and accessories aside.

I think The radio is the only major difference in a touring 05 or 06. Dynas changed for 06 but touring didnt.

I've also heard about the better flowing heads on the '06,as stigger mentions. There's been a few guys on here looking to upgrade to '06 heads. As far as the HK radio,it's a piece of crap anyway. I'd go with the '06 if the price is close to same.

I believe '05 had some issues with valve guides.

Yes, '05 and early '06 heads did. There is no service bulletin out for it but it has been well documented.
