I am under the opinion that a lot of people on this forum need to learn how to use rear brakes. I've locked up the rear many times, and not once has that resulted in the bike going down. You can change direction much faster by swinging the rear around with a locked wheel, too; I've done it deliberately. It's expensive and painful to practice those kind of maneuvers on a Harley, so few Harley (or any big bike only) riders get the experience. I'm sure there are plenty of dirt bike riders here that know what I mean.

I'm not against ABS brakes, probably a good idea for the average street bike rider. Definitely a good idea for you; from what I gather from your posts, it would be of great benefit to you to push your limits on a lightweight dirt bike in the dirt until you really understand what's going on - I credit my early dirt experience for never getting road rash, doubt I ever would have pulled a Harley out of a sideways slide once otherwise - and did that in my 60's, the reflexes stay with you a long time. You really sound like you're just picking out soundbites from magazine articles, not real life experience, and that's why you're getting so many negative comments. I'm not saying this to badmouth you or start an argument, more of a suggestion that you consider that some of these guys that disagree with you have many years of experience, often gained with a bit of pain you probably haven't had... yet... and know what they're talking about. We don't always agree with those magazine writers, either, they can occasionally come up with some bone headed ideas that will get you in trouble if you try them without racetrack expertise.

Having an opinion, right or wrong, the same or different, is still an opinion and anyone is free to express it, without that person being called a troll, no matter who they are.

Please start acting like the adults that you are.
