I see the point of your post but we TwinCam owners aren't in such a bad "boat".

ETA: Congrats on your new bike, wrightcj.

I was looking at the 17 triglide in Sept but the dealer wanted 4k more than my 16. Just did not see it.

Yep. Simply walk into your nearest dealer and claim your prize. Taxes and fees of course are your responsibility.

I get a kick out of these "what is the going price" threads- like there actually is some magic number. Dealers will charge what they will, and consumers will pay what they will. The exact number will be all over the place, based on a lot of variables.

However, with the new models, I'd suspect that dealers may try to hold to MSRP, maybe even a bit higher, but if they have a lot of inventory sitting on the floor (which they are probably financing) they might be willing to take offers under MSRP, throw in service, merchandise, etc....... All depends on each dealer and each customer. No pat answer.

Unless the new frame is more rigid, made from aluminum, and is 94 pounds lighter than the anchor it replaces. A difference in weight so remarkable, that the MOCO may advertise the new "lightweight" model to those older riders that have "heavy weight" motorcycle reluctance. Or not.

i got mine at $21k and some change, plus the silly freight/set up/doc fees and at 2.45% interest through my credit union. Im satisfied with that, especially when I offered $26k out the door in September and the dealer said no.

When I checked out the (then new) '09 Road Kings, I was turned off by the fatter gas tank and the 75 lb (IIRC) weight gain. IMO, the new features including the beefier frame, weren't worth the weight gain over my '04.
