Before I joined this forum I thought I knew everything about bikes.
Now I don't know:
What oil to use.
What tires to run.
What gear to wear.
Oh and everything you read on the web is 100% true!!!
Where to put gas cap when refueling.
Whether to use lead weighted get-back-whip or unweighted.
What after market parts void warranty which ones don't.
😃
All in all, I've learned a lot, people will help when they can, but do a search first. And I've been entertained by some of the threads, either intentionally or otherwise.
this is by far the greatest forum out there ! lots of good information here by alot of smart people. i would like to take a second to thank everyone who helped talk me though my accident two years ago. gives a person hope when they are layed up and thoughts about how to get back in the breeze. good forum and the best people on the planet are on it !
I couldn't agree more. This website is one of the greatest things I've found since I started riding. Last week I put the following on my 2005 Wide Glide:
6 inch risers
grips
clutch cable
throttle cable
idle cable
I, of course, had to pull the gas tank to get some wiring slack for the risers.
At each step of the way I ran into some complication. All I had to do was type my issue into the search box on this website and, sure enough, there was some other guy who had the identical problem and 20 responses from people who knew how to fix it. All in all the whole thing went smoothly but I couldn't have done it without this site and the smart people who visit here.
2. I don't need CNN, Fox News or any other news channel, website, or paper. You guys are the best reporters around and get the news to me faster than I can find it anywhere else!
I learned to never read the complete, original post, just read a few answers and give my own answer whether it pertains or not. What is this thread about? Oh,yeah,I get on the bike from which ever side I approach it from.
