Default Hard start and kicks back
My 98 harley is hard to start and kicks back. It's rough riding too. Any idea as to what's causing this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I'll start by asking what model of '98 Harley?

A ground pounder that rides rough? I figure that's normal.
Google search of "S&S engine starter kickback" resulted in a lot of hits..like this one.

In other words, it is a custom in the style of a Harley, but not actually a Harley. Which really doesn't matter much in general, but kind of important to know before you start diagnosing a problem.

Where to start on this problem is anyone's guess at this point.
