While you are riding put your hand right in front of your chest to see if you are getting wind if so air is coming from around your knees and up , just like the photos from Son of the Hounds posted
use your hand to find where the air is coming from by moving all around you

What S of H said; chrome fork lowers. I wouldn't have a touring bike or softail without them.

I have these on my Ultra and they make an amazing difference. Although I also have the lowers so I can't say exactly how big of an impact they will have on your SG.

I can tell you that the couple of times I've taken them off I was immediately inundated with turbulence causing my shirt to rise up my back and belly. At 60 years old and 30 lbs. overweight it isn't a pretty sight So they immediately went back on. No more turbulence in that midsection area. Okay, TMI but now you know how much I like them.

I just ordered a lower triple tree wind deflector. I'm not real sold on how well it works just yet. But for the price, its worth a try

From the diagram, it almost looks like if your running lower deflectors your passenger is **** outta luck. True?
I get a lot of buffeting and have a 6" Ultra coming from LRS.
Was hoping it'd be a good choice for the wife too.

Fork lowers worked for me! However, I feel big differences depending on the helmet i wear. I will get buffeting with a full face, probably because there is a solid piece of plastic sticking out under my chin. When I where my 3/4 or go commando, I have no buffeting what soever. I have a 6.5" klockwerks shield on a Street Glide and I am 69" tall.

My Ultra has the triple tee deflector and it does keep air from rushing up in front of the tank. My windshield is the standard 10" and I have the deflectors on either side low on the fairing. I get little buffeting with this combination.

The triple tee deflector probably helps with the cooling a bit also.
