Default 120st problems

so i have a 15 street glide decided to put a 120st in it.bought the tb they said i had to have got the injectors they said i had to have. also got the se race clutch they said i should have.broke it in like they recommended.put a map in it from fuel moto.with my dyno power vision which they knew i had.oil pump come apart.crank bearings shot. back lash like crazy.harley dealer got on phone with harley tech went the steps with harley tech.everything was covered until the harley tech said well u have a dyno vision not our race tuner.so its not covered under warranty.with known problems with oil pump in these motors also with the crank bearings bein weak.so i guess im lookin for some info and feed back.can a dyno vision really void a warranty...pretty sick to my stomach right now.motor only has 4000 mls on it.

I am sorry to hear about your issues. The tuner should not have anything to do with the warranty of the motor cause you need some way to adjust the tune. I haven't seen a lot out there on oil pumps failing but the small oil pump gear is not vary strong. I don't know what material the stock pumps are made of but I replaced mine with a feuling oe+ cause it has chrome moly gears which is a vary strong material

i could be mistaken, but i thought the 120ST came with the TB and injectors as part of the package

i know the 120R you purchased them separately.

if the motor co is not honoring the warrenty, seems the installation dealer should be explaining why the motor he sold with a 1 year warranty did not have all the parts included and why they allowed use of a non approved tuner.

I put a ST120 in my 15 Freewheeler in 15. There is over 13,000 miles on it so far without the slightest issue. Well if you don't count a noisy top end.

Mine did not come with the intake or injectors. The parts book did not show that it came standard with the intake and injectors. You could just swap with the existing engine or order the sizes that you wanted.I just went with the swap from the 103 HO. Since the Freewheeler had the hydraulic clutch H-D tech said it would not need any upgrade. Even with the heavy trike the clutch just hits it and gets it.

I did the H-D race tuner and it runs terrific. Even beats the 38 mph the 103 HO was doing by turning in 42 mpg on long tours. The Street tune for the 120 St was rated at 106 HP the race tune comes in at 122 HP.

I did the SE clutch spring on the 13 Street Bob 120R build and it has held up. However I left the stock spoke rims and narrow tire on as a "compensator".

Sorry about the warranty issue it seems to me that the SE clutch spring would not be related to the tune. But what do I know?

However, now that H-D is under a consent decree with EPA, they must report every warranty claim to EPA. So it is in no one's best interest to document noncompliant emissions motorcycles.

Maybe a known maker of strong aftermarket clutches would be a good but $ answer.

IH4X4,

Why are you talking about clutch springs? His oil pump failed.

They have to prove the tuner caused the problem. That is federal law. I would remind them of the law. Then I would talk to a lawyer. Have him send them a letter reminding them of the law. Good luck.

Prot: With the lack of a capital letter and no space between sentences I thought it said he had the SE spring installed and broke it.

Slowly read it again and saw the mistake.
