MAN THAT WOULD REALLY SUCK. I AM SURE HE IS ALRIGHT. IT LOOKS LIKE HE WAS TRYING TO ROLL OUT OF THE SEAT B4 THE BIKE LAYED ONTOP OF HIM. HE IS DEFINATLY AT FAULT FOR NOT PAYING MORE ATTENTION TO THE ROAD. I AGREE WITH WHOEVER SAID IT ABOVE. HE WAS TOO INTERESTED IN WAVING TO THE CAMERA, AND IT DOES LOOK LIKE HE LOCKED UP THE FRONT WHEEL. WHICH I HAVE TRIED TO DO ON MY BIKE AND CAN NEVER GET IT TO LOCK UP. MAYBE THE FLOATING ROTORS HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THAT

Actually, we were there this weekend. The guy rode his bike away. Other than minor road rash, on bike and rider, everything worked out OK. Some guy's I know talked with him right the crash and they said he was a super guy, just blew the entrance. Also, according to him, the crash bars lifted the front wheel off the ground and he lost all the control he had at that point.

If you go to Deal's Gap, leave your ego at the start and ride our own pace. It's easy to get caught up trying to keep up.

Well, I wonder if he got setup for the corner (Outside, Inside, Outside) or if he was too far inside to begin with and couldn't recover...
I know that when I ride my friends bikes with floorboards and other low hanging garb, I have to be careful cause I do scrape them!!

Well like some of you have said that front tire in the second picture isn’t turning. It’s a big mistake to come into a corner hot and grab some front brake and it leads to what you see above. If you come in hot you either upright the bike and get on the brakes HARD before you get to far into the other lane or you just keep pushing that inside grip and hope the traction holds. The first thing they teach you at a MSF course is you don’t brake and turn at the same time. The amount of traction needed to corner and the amount of traction needed to brake together are well over 100% of what the tires can handle. Now I’m not saying there isn’t a STRONG desire to grab some brake when going too fast through a corner but it’s a sure way to put the bike down. I just hope if I’m ever in this situation I remember to leave those brakes alone because I’m probably not above doing the same in a panic situation.

Glad to hear the guy was ok.
