music and map on same usb thumb drive
I don't know if this post is ok to post here but here goes.i will be making a trip from Kentucky to nova scotia Canada this july and would like to have my music and a pre planned trip route on the same usb stick.i will be using the hd road trip planner web site.is this possible to listen to the music from the usb stick and have the pre loaded maps run at the same time.any help appreciated.thanks
You will have to import the maps from the USB into the Boom system for the gps to read it. It's not reading it from the USB when riding like it does the music. I don't see why there would be an issue, but I've never tried it. I keep separate thumb drives for music, map routes, and system software. For the price of USB drives, it wouldn't hurt to do this. You lose the one that contains everything, or it malfunctions for some reason when you're out on the road and all of your crap is gone.
I have also tried unsuccessfully to import a .gpx file into my Boom System. I tried the .gpx files from Rever and the Harley-Davidson ride planner website. It does not recognize the files even when they are the only file on the thumb drive. Before I give up, I'm going to try a different brand of thumb drive.
