I know this is Old News to most of you, because it's just the way we do things.
I got a call from my son, who works at a HD dealership and said there was a guy that needed a little help. His air shocks were leaking and needed some replacements.
My son knew I have a few take-offs, some of which he had given me and others I've accumulated over the years.
I can't see perfectly good parts going to waste when someone upgrades, needed or not, and just leaves the new/ barely used parts behind.
Bottom line, didn't matter, but turns out I actually know the guy and I told him sure I'd hook him up with a set of shocks. He wanted to know HOW MUCH and I told him if you are going to use them, nothing. He talked about how much they were worth (HD Premium Adjustables {not worth what H-D thinks}) and I told him it was worth it to me to give them to him and get him down the road. I just asked him that when he runs across someone he can help out, to do the same.
Times have changed a lot, I'm trying to Live the Old Skool way and never leave somebody stranded, and you don't take money for doing the right thing. HAPPY EASTER
I cross a little private bridge between Pennsylvania and New Jersey every day. You buy a book of tickets and give one to the toll taker when you cross. On Friday I went to hand my ticket to the attendent. He said the car ahead of you paid your toll. Now I have to do the same thing for somebody.

I've been buying a lunch on Friday's for several years during LENT, at the Catholic Church - Excellent Catfish. Last week when I went to pay the Lady said it had been paid for. Same here, I buy for servicemen etc. anonymously.
This was not about me, but about making sure people continue what we have been doing for years.
TSheff what ever you do Do Not make a joke about screwing an insurance co cause if you do you will go from being a good ol boy, to a sorry bastard before a cat can lick it's ***
Kudos to you.
I did the same thing when I was a mechanic. CV joints on the old toronado were an expensive repair. If we had any good used parts like that, we'd let a service writer know. Had a family in from out of state with bad joint, and you could tell they struggle. Service writer asked if I still had the part, he asked how much. Told him to use his heart. Family got $350 repair for less than $50. Split with service writer and watched a relieved dad drive his family out. Wasn't a freebie, but damn sure helped someone in need.
