So you want to. move it up out of the needed to function air stream?
Now who is dumber than dirt?
Evidently you, the flow is much stronger and cleaner higher, say man I know some of you don't have a life and lurk around until you can post your opinion but this is a no brainer man.

Here I am wanting to write the engineers a thank you letter for designing the best bike ever...
It is a good bike, the best, but the oil cooler is right in the dirt man, do you understand that ? No ?
well think about it and when you write harley ask them to spend .50 cents and some logic and move the damn oil cooler up high and in a better flow and outa the dirt please.
best/joe
Say men its a simple process to move the oil cooler up in a better air flow and off the ground and inexpensive, Im going to relocate mine myself, pic's to follow.

Maybe you can make a bracket and sell it here and make some money. If I learned one thing being on this forum is there are plenty of people in search of a solution that needs a problem. Make a bracket and sell it for 20 bucks on here all day long.

Bikes aside man, thank you for your service to the country man...............Best/joe
Man, thats a great idea, I think I will get me one [smile] you are a funny man.

I don't know what's so "funny" about that idea. If/when I buy a new touring bike, that's exactly what I'm going to do. As my mother used to say, "don't bitch, solve the problem!"
Moving the oil cooler higher will block airflow to the front cylinder head, defeating the purpose of the oil cooler.
Skid plate? What the **** are you doing on your bike that you are running into **** with the front of your engine? In 50 years I never ran into/over anything that hit the front of the engine. Guess I've just been lucky? What Harley should do is require buyers to pass some minimal intelligence test to eliminate a lot of this!
Honestly, I have often wondered why they put the oil coolers so low. However, I have never heard of anyone who punctured the oil cooler where it's mounted. Looking at my 2015 RGS, I honestly do not see anyway debris could get up so high, so quickly, to puncture the cooler. Additionally, if some piece of debris could defy physics and go nearly straight up, behind the fender, it would tend to glance off the cooler and maybe just bend some of the fins. But what do I know?
