If the bike doesn't fit you, you can't handle it, and won't change anything, then most of the advise you got is useless.

The bike needs to fit. Would you walk around in shoes that don't fit?

If you're new to riding maybe a 1200 wasn't the best choice. A riders course would be good, or learning the fundamentals on a smaller bike.

What bike did you use to get your license?

Wow. Beautiful bike!

Most riders I know started out not knowing any more than you know now. I think once you learn emergency stops, and counter-steering, the rest will come with a little riding time.

Also try to find someone who's going to recognize when you're tired and call for a break. When you're starting out you're usually very tense and might not notice it makes you tired faster than you'd think.

Maybe start with a humble attitude and get an easy release clutch lever. Then get new bars and controls.

That's cute that you think 12 hours is a long work day

Go to the dealer, they should help you. If not, go to one that will. You will spend money, but it's a toy, what do you expect.

Take the class before you start again. That's my advice.

In all seriousness - DROP THE ATTITUDE! We're trying to help you and KEEP YOUR *** ALIVE! I wish 40+ years ago I had the access to expertise that you find here, to keep us safe to make us smart. JUST BECAUSE you can ride 100 yards in a line (barely) makes you capable to operate a bike. EXPERIENCED riders learn here all the time, I suggest you do to before you kill yourself or someone else.

My advice to you is LISTEN. Yeah, I am now being a ******** because you warrant this response.. Dont ask for the truth if you cant handle the truth. (Thank you Jack Nicholson).

BTW - your not a driver of a motorcycle, your a rider.. AND you just state you never rode before and your not gonna change, that in itself is moronic. So in your own words, dont be a ********. Wanna know why I sound pissed off, its because we honestly are here to help you and you dont seem to get it. Again, listen before your hurt, dead or mangled. BTW - nice bike, I had the exact same one.

MOST responding here are trying to help you. I would guess also that most were under the impression that you were a guy as I myself. The fact that you are a woman sheds a tad bit of light, especially with the clutch issue. If you think there is a problem with that have it checked out. Any dealership will help you get the bike fitted for you unless maybe you are, well, for a lack of a tactful way of putting it, not physically capable. Best of luck.

Now that I have read more about your situation as I understand it. You have never ridden before, problem with popping the clutch, forward controls and drag bar, have not taken a riding course.
Here is my 2 cents:
1 - take a course, learn on their bikes (smaller) and proper techniques on friction zone and stopping.
2 - 1200 Sporty with forward controls and drag bar is not a very good set up for a biginner. Change to mid contros and a better bar with less reach. The sporty also has a very small friction zone , so you will need to find it and then just keep practicing 9 a little more gas and real slow release to keep from popping the clutch)

Most important, be safe.
