Around $150 for rear tire plus $30 to mount it. You should be out the door for under 200.00. Front tire would be a little less. Both tires could be Done easily for under $400.00 all day long. These prices include taking the tires off yourself and dropping them off at a local shop.
I bought a set of avons for $229 shipped. They were on sale at the time. Indie would no longer do them if I didn't buy from him so did it myself. I made that stupid mistake once more so out of convienance at the time and had the dealer put just the rear tire on for $500.
Yep, I just paid in the $800 range for the standard Dunlop wide whitewalls, tubes and rim guards on my Roadking. Well worth it in my opinion.
Indy shop wanted about $675 for the same, dealer is much closer and I've had good service from them as needed.
Changed my own tires on my jap bike in the past, major PIA for me. But then I pay people $40 to cook a $7 piece of steak in restaurants all the time, have a guy cut my lawn, etc. To each his own.
Will need tires on the 2017 Ultra. Figured .. I know the local Harley shops are hurting. ... ALL of them. Easy to see. Walk in .. very few or none in the showroom.
Service is empty. No bikes. Nothing on the shop floor.
.... anyway .. I call around. Need a quote on tires and install ..
Average $840 dollars. THIS is why the shops are empty and the motor company suffers.
It cost me less to do the tires and mount them on my daughters Mitsubishi Galant with Goodyear tourers.
Sorry Harley.
Not sure what dealer your using but my local HD Dealer here in Huntington Beach only charges 49.00 per wheel, front or back. My local HBHD dealer is actually cheaper than my indy when it comes to tires....my last set was purchased just a month ago and I was out the door for 510.00 that included the tubes, spoke liners. There are usually lots of deals on tires and installs around this time of year, keep shopping around.
when it comes to tires, you've got to check around. I've seen some dealerships that will charge $1.00 for installation if you buy the tire from them at list. I've seen some that have a $99.00 flat rate for any tire. and still others that have other deals.
sure you may have to ride a little bit to get it done, but isn't that why you bought the bike in the first place, to ride?
I replaced my front tire at a Honda/Yamaha/Kawasaki shop. The price of the tire was much less then a Harley shop wanted, even though it was the same tire. I was surprised to see it even had 'Harley' on the side.
I rode my scooter in, parked and wandered around the showroom for a while. Then when they brought my scooter back I got on my scooter and rode home. Installation was free. Sometimes shopping around is beneficial.
