I quit reading after the fifth or sixth mistake. If one is really interested in the origins of the HD alpha naming system I suggest Bruce Palmer's excellent "How to Restore Your Harley Davidson." It must be out of print because Amazon is selling it now for $800. I wish I had bought a couple more when they were $20.

I ain't real big into the alphabet soup. The olden days of knuckhead, panhead, and shovelhead were good enough for me. While I understand the need for identifying specific models in a systematic way, like numbers and insensible letters, they're hard to remember. Names are much better. Heck, I've got to have my owner's manual handy when looking at a catalog to figure what fit my model.

The new CVO trike has a ten letter designation! Please don't ask me what it is. I'm not at wok and don't have access to the latest catalog.
