Speaking of Chuck's Deluxe, didn't he die a month or two back? I heard it at the time but never seen it discussed on here so I forgot about it. Anyone know if it was true? Edit: answered my own question. http://sundancetimes.com/charles-a-chuck-deluxe-ruiz/

A week or two is ridiculous, find an indy.

Harley will rape your wallet for a tire and install. Buy online and take it to an Indy. I have them sent directly to my Indy and minus the general time it takes to have a good time talking about everything from guns to politics, takes less than an hour. Find a good Indy, make friends and enjoy the good times.

Did they have to order the tires? If so it can take up to a week to get them in.

I know in my area I can always breeze right in and get taken care of that day unless its summer riding season. Then it can take one to two weeks to get in. Usually during riding season I make my appointments a couple of weeks in advance and just drop it off that day. Its always done that day or by the next.

During summer and depending of they have the part or have to order, sometimes it can take awhile.

Sounds really lame to me. I recently had my front tire on my Springer changed by my Indy. He placed an order and it came in the following day. When I took my bike in, it took him a little less than an hour to replace my tire and put the new tire back on my bike. I'd say screw the dealership and find yourself an Indy to do the work for you.

what price did they quote you OP? I needed a new rear tire and got a quote for parts and labor from the local dealer.....$650. I said no thanks and I'll investigate other options.

Removed the wheel myself and found an Indy. Decided to send the wheel out for Powder coat now, but otherwise I would have just waited for it and paid the tire only price.

spring time is the busy time for any bike shop that's good..

make an appointment and they shouldn't have to have your bike longer than a day..

Myself I order my tires from Dennis Kirk and get them in three days.. then I call the local INDY and I make an app. Then I drop off the bike in the morning and he calls me when it done...

It's now about $130 for the front and $160 for the rear (LOPd - American elites) for my bike. Of course it depends what tire you buy, then our INDY charges $30 per tire to R&R it.. That way I get both new tires for what the dealer charges just for the rear..

good luck and safe riding..

650.00 for a rear tire and labor? I call bullshit...and nothing more than dealer bashing!
